Coaching School eye Tobago three-peat

ST CLAIR’S Coaching School despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Bi-Water Stokelyvale, need three points from three matches to do a three-peat in the Warner’s Group of Companies-sponsored Tobago Football Association Semi-Professional League. Prolific goal scorer Kareem Robley netted his ninth goal of the season in the 83rd minute of Wednesday night’s game at Shaw Park, Tobago, to knot up the scores. The Vale took the lead after ten minutes when their star striker Michael Carrington got his 12th goal this year, but Roger Groome grabbed the equaliser for Coaching School in the 42nd minute. Carrington restored Stokelyvale’s advantage one minute after the resumption and The Vale appeared on the road to handing Coaching School their third beating of the season, before Robley popped up.

Earlier at Roxborough, lowly Charlotteville Unifiers put an end to 1976 FC Phoenix XS challenge for the title, when they hung on to a 60th minute goal by Kirby Spencer for a 1-0 victory. Pepsi Hills United held on to their third position after they shut out Georgia FC 4-0 in the opening game of the double-header at Shaw Park. Eustace Stewart and Keon Boatswain both scored doubles to give the Hill Boys the victory. Only on Sunday last, Unifiers struggled to a 3-3 draw with Bethel United  at the Charlotteville ground. Cedric Neptune and Gerry Woods gave Bethel a 2-1 lead at half-time, and Dennison Thomas added the third goal. Steve Murray hit a double including the equaliser, and Kirby Spencer got Unifiers’ third.
