Rev Paul was correct

THE EDITOR: I listened with amazement to hear the Honourable Prime Minister and the distinguished leader of the opposition agree on an issue after having so many years of disagreement, the situation being the ceremonial opening of the eighth Parliament and specifically the prayer which was tendered by Rev Cyril Paul.

It is amazing how foes become comrades united against statements which conveyed so much truth. For too long, our populace has had to put up with irresponsible politicians, reckless debates and the senseless panderings of Members of Parliament who choose to tow party lines. It is not untrue to say especially if we critically review our historical development over the last 20 years that the population has been lied to, mistreated, treated with contempt and hoodwinked. If this is true, and most of us will agree, the Rev Paul was correct in his expressions. Most importantly, these gentlemen should respect Rev Paul as the prayer was not directed to them but to their Lord.  They are out of place to take offence.
