Sando to celebrate city status

ACTING Commissioner of Police  Everald Snaggs paid a surprise visit to San Fernando Mayor Ian Atherly yesterday  during a press conference at City Hall, where Mayor Atherly announced two weeks of celebrations to commemorate the 15th anniversary of San Fernando attaining city status. Ag CoP Snaggs told the media that he was happy to meet with Atherly and would like to see a good relationship being fostered between Atherly and the Police Service and the city police. Commissioner Snaggs also pledged full police support for the two weeks of celebrat-ions. The Mayor said there was an “urgent need” to bring back confidence to the people of San Fernando, especially persons who fall under the middle-class category, with regards to personal security and the appreciation of cultural activities in the borough. He was speaking at the official launch of the San Fernando City Corporation’s “Week of Activities.”
