Chaos in Diego Martin

THE EDITOR: I would like to know who was responsible for the chaos that ensured on our roads in Diego Martin during the past weekend. St Lucien Road, one of the main arteries in the west, was abruptly closed for most of Saturday and Sunday gone. With the exception of a tiny notification that appeared, albeit without any form of accreditation, in Friday’s Newsday, there was no official notification given to us residents about what was planned. Those of s who read the notice and called WASA and the Ministry of Works were told that no one there knew anything about the proposed closure. However come Saturday morning that is exactly what happened.

Bumper to bumper traffic became the order of the day with us hard working, taxpaying and mostly PNM voting residents of Diego “ketching our tails” every time we left our homes during the weekend. I just hope that my fellow Diego Martin residents remember this, along with the corruption, inefficiencies, crime, kidnappings and broken promises made, when election time rolls around again.
