Taxi driver missing

A Belmont man has been missing since last Thursday. According to the sister of 36-year-old Mikel Green of Palmiste Street, Belmont, her brother left his home to ply his blue B13 Sentra motor car for hire last Thursday morning at about 7 am.

Green, who works the Belmont/Port-of-Spain route, has not been seen or heard from since that day.  Ac-cording to Veronica Green, the missing man’s sister, her brother usually returns home after a day’s work no later than 7 pm. She said he has never been in the habit of staying away from home, and cannot understand why he has not yet contacted her. Acknowledging the present crime situation, Green said she now fears for her brother’s safety. An official missing person’s report has been made at the Belmont Police Station and police tried to trace the missing man’s car to see if it had been stolen, but they too did not come up with anything. Green said her brother left home wearing a Cream coloured T-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mikel Green is asked to contact the Belmont Police Station or his sister at 627-7436 or 623-8564.
