Robbery outside RBTT — Bandit snatches $9,000
A 42-year-old woman was robbed of a bag containing $9,000 while on her way to deposit the cash at the St James branch of RBTT. Reports are that around 9.30 am, Stephanie Parris was walking towards the bank when she was confronted by a man armed with a knife. The man placed the knife to the woman’s back and ordered her to hand over the bag. The terrified woman complied and as the man was fleeing the scene, Parris raised an alarm by screaming and the man was pursued by a group of men. He managed to escape, however, and officers of the St James Police Station were alerted. Several streets were cordoned off in a bid to apprehend the suspect, but to no avail. The victim was taken to the St James Police Station where she gave a statement and a description of the bandit. Investigations are continuing.
