Norton sisters shoot St Martin’s to victory

ADASHA NORTON was in accurate form, scoring 22 goals from her 26 attempts to lead St Martin’s to a hard-fought 26-22 victory over Diego Martin Junior Secondary, in a Group Y North zone  game in the British Gas Secondary Schools Netball League. Wednesday’s game was close throughout, but with goal-shoot Adasha shooting the lights out and sister and goal-attack Patrice Norton adding four goals from her 10 attempts, St Martin’s got the victory. Goal-shoot Kelly Ann Francis also had a good game for the Diego girls scoring 15 goals from 20 attempts, while Suelin Tang gave good support with seven goals from 10 attempts.

In another action-packed game in the same group, Tranquillity Government held off St Joseph’s Convent 22-16. Goal-attack K’Lene Lewis scored 15 goals from 21 attempts and Janique Francois seven from 12 for the winners, while for the convent girls Je-neille King got nine goals, Marie-Ella Maynard six and Kim Peters one. Divisional champions Mucurapo Junior Secondary swamped Belmont Junior Secondary 47-2 in their Group X game. Nariba Grant, a national under-17 goal-attack scored 28 goals from 35 attempts and Tracey La Borde 19 of 30 for the Mucurapo girls, while Latoya Farray got the two goals for Belmont.
