Need to clean up the city now

THE EDITOR: I have just returned to Port-of-Spain having visited San Juan, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, Martinique, Barbados and Aruba. I could not help noticing the cleanliness of the ports, their environs, and the well kept shrubbery around the ports. TT could well take a few pages from the books of these countries and I further suggest that both the union leader of SWTU and Manager of the Port Authority should visit these places to see how things are done. Even the main streets in the shopping areas are clean. Ours are littered with rubbish and vagrants.
Come on Mr Mayor of Port-of-Spain, do something about this and make us proud. The Caribbean Court of Appeal will be moving in soon. Let us all show some national pride.
