Giving honourable mention
THE EDITOR: While I am moved to congratulate Mr Dapali Pamdahie and Mr Beharry Boodoo for the organising, planning and administration of Divali for decades at Cedar Hill, Princes Town and of more recently, Ramayan Yagna by Mr Beharry Boodoo, the architect of it, I am moved to draw or make the observation that in the awarding of activists and players of the Ramleela in particular, I wish to draw the observation of the Executive of the Ramleela Committee that there were a few actors of the “Ramleela” play whose names were either deliberately or inadvertently left out for awards.
Those persons names are as follows: Mr Harry Deokaran who used his truck for transportation of many heavy equipment and other assets and also Mr Indar Kissoon. What about Messrs Chokolingo Gang, Medina Charles, Ronald Charlie, Sieudath Deokaran, Mr Jimmy Sookoo and deceased Outam Ramlogan who provided extension cords for electrification of the Ramleela ground? We must not forget Mr Sookdeo Kirpaul who in the past afforded the opportunity for dancers in the Ramleela to change their clothes. I myself acted on three occasions as Chairman, and twice gave feature addresses, but I write mainly to mention the names of the past players.
