I prefer my own kind
THE EDITOR: When it comes to the important matter of love and companionship, I prefer my own kind. That’s me. That’s how I feel. That’s my choice. For these heartfelt views they very often ridicule or even bash me. With their psychological spin they try to make me feel I am bad. In their articles they insinuate that I am racial and I am not a true Trini. They are very good at this. But now, they have openly admitted that “the young Afro male is an under-achiever; an under-performer.” So, in this modern era of the twenty-first century, why should a young woman want to have anything to do with an under-achiever or an under-performer, especially when her future well-being and security are at stake? And from what I have observed the members of this “vulnerable” group have no respect for their own young women. They can keep their under-achievers and under-performers. They can say whatever they want about me. When it comes to matters of the heart, to romance and intimacy, I know what I like and what I want. My own kind. I strongly believe that hundred of thousands of my “sisters” feel the same way.
