Magdalene leaves for China today

Magdalene Walcott departs today to represent Trinidad and Tobago at this year’s Miss World Pageant to be held in China, courtesy of American Airlines. The Pageant will be held on Saturday  December 6. Magdalene, a Customer Service Representative with Sagicor Life Inc, will also compete in the Talent Competition of the Pageant. A performer with Los Alumnos de San Juan, her competition piece will be “El Milagro,” re-mixed and put onto a CD courtesy of Earl Crosby and Eric Maichand. Magdalene will have a full accompaniment of her band for her performance. Magdalene is seen here in her performance wear created by Peter Elias and the late Helen Joseph. The design utilised almost 15 yards of cotton and depicts the elegance of what is considered Caribbean wear. It is typical of a Bele Dancer. Magdalene’s make-up for this photo was done by Sacha Cosmetics and Hair by Bally. Best wishes to Magdalene in China!
