Autopsy shows baby died of natural causes

AN AUTOPSY carried out yesterday revealed that the eight-day-old Moruga baby girl, who was found dead in a crib by her mother on Tuesday, died of natural causes after contracting jaundice. The child, who had not yet been named, was found dead by its mother Terry Ann Graham, 23, at their Moruga Road, Moruga home. Reports stated that Graham breast fed the child around 4 am and placed the baby in a crib to sleep. When the woman checked on her child at 6 am, she found the baby was not breathing and appeared dead. The frightened woman quickly telephoned the police who visited the scene. The District Medical Officer Dr Seelochan arrived shortly after and pronounced the child dead. The body was removed to the San Fernando Mortuary, where the autopsy was carried out. Acting ASP Dhilpaul, Sgt Maynard, Cpl Harbhajan and PC Ramdath visited the scene and carried out investigations.
