Meters can help save water

THE EDITOR: We are all aware that there is a constant water shortage in the nation. Hundreds of thousands of people have water problems. It is for this reason I do not understand my fellow church-going neighbour wasting water daily.

My neighbour has two water tanks in his yard. He has a water pump which he uses to spray his car, his yard and his lawn twice daily. Hundreds of thousands of gallons of water are wasted daily by this one person. I call upon WASA to allow people to report in confidentiality this breach of the law. WASA must also install water meters on premises where people have water pumps. This will encourage saving of water for the suffering nation to use.
