Dad, 39, charged with rape

AN unemployed man, 39, has been arrested and charged for having sex with his 14-year-old daughter. The arrest came after the victim and her aunt reported the incest to officers of the Siparia CID last Saturday.

The girl told police, she lived with her father and her 12-year-old sister, since their mother left the marital home last year. The victim claimed that after her mother left, her father started making sexual advances towards her. Then in March, the victim said, her father held her down and raped her. She claimed that since that incident, he has forced himself on her at various times. When the teen went by an aunt to stay, she confided to the aunt about the sexual assaults. The shocked woman took the teen to the station where they made a report. The girl was then taken to a District Medical Officer who confirmed that she was sexually active. The suspect has been charged with incest and is expected to appear before a Siparia magistrate today.
