Homeless man killed in hit and run accident

The body of a homeless man is now lying unidentified at the Port-of- Spain public mortuary after being killed in a hit and run accident on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway. Around 2.10 am yesterday in the vicinity of Pasea Main Road and the CR Highway residents reported hearing a loud thud. When they invesigated they saw the homeless man lying motionless in a pool of blood on the highway and not a car in sight. There were also no witnesses to the accident. The man of Negro descent, about 40 years of age, wearing a cream coloured jersey and black pants appeared to be crossing from north to south when the accident took place. Constable Praboo of the Tunapuna station is investigating.
