Crawford out inaugural Senior Games
TRINIDAD and Tobago only Olympic gold-medallist Hasely Crawford is out of the proposed inaugural Senior Games 2004. According to Crawford, “I cannot walk far more run right now.” The Montreal Olympics 1976 100-metre gold medal winner said he recentlky had knee surgery and running was out of the question. He said he told the organisers it would not be possible for him to take part in the Games scheduled for May 8 and 9 next year.
But organisers said San Fernando Mayor Ian Atherly, a former cycling sprint king, had expressed an interest in competing.
