Feb decision for Arima teachers

THE TRIAL for the hearing of a Judicial Review into decision of the Teaching Service Commission (TSC)  to suspend nine Arima Senior Comprehensive School teachers, has been set for February 2004.

High Court Judge Mark Mohammed scheduled the trial to be held between February 17 and 19, 2004, after consulting with attorneys representing the TSC, and nine suspended teachers and the Trinidad Tobago Unified Teachers Association  during the hearing, which came up yesterday in the Port-of-Spain Fifth Civil Court. The application for judicial review was filed in July by the nine suspended teachers and TTUTA following the decision made by the TSC last December to suspend the teachers.  The TSC claimed that actions taken by the teachers had brought them into disrepute.
