Man in court for murder of birthday boy

A LA ROMAINE man appeared before a San Fernando magistrate yesterday, charged with the murder of Richard Mark, who was fatally shot over the weekend, while celebrating his 35th birthday. Dwayne “Pagan” Lynch  appear-ed before acting Deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington in the First Court to answer the indictable charge. Mark succumbed to gunshot injuries on Saturday morning, after he was shot in the chest while celebrating his birthday at La Pique Plaza, Library Corner, San Fer-nando. Cpl Wendell Fernando was the prosecutor yesterday.

Many of Mark’s relatives and friends filled the public seating area of the courtroom and listened intently as the charge was read out while Lynch, who displayed a calm demeanour, stood and listened. When asked if he had legal representation, Lynch said he had retained the services of a lawyer, who was not present yesterday, but would be in court when the matter comes up for hearing on December 5.
