Yearling sales at Santa Rosa
APPROXIMATELY 81 lots from 14 farms will pass through the sales ring at this year’s Trinidad and Tobago Stud Farm Association Yearling Sale at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, tomorrow.
The sale, from which future champions are drawn is once again being sponsored by Carib Brewery Limited. Yearlings will be available for inspection by prospective buyers from 9 am, but the auction is scheduled to begin at noon. A reserve for all lots will be in force and subject to such price being reached, the highest bidder for the lot shall be the purchaser. There are exclusive benefits to buyers of animals in today’s sale. Horses passing through the ring would be eligible to take entry in two races over the next two seasons. The first to be run off next year will carry a purse value of $75,000 and the other will have a guarantee minimun purse of $60,000. A purchaser from another member country of the West Indian Thoroughbred Association will be eligible to a subsidy of 50 percent of their travel cost up to a maximum of $1,000.
