Ex-AG among 8 elevated to ‘Silk’

Former Attorney General Glenda Morean-Phillip and newly appointed director of Legal Aid, Gilbert Petersen, were among eight attorneys elevated to Senior Counsel (SC) yesterday.

The others are Reginald Armour, Pamela Elder, Christopher Hamel-Smith, Fyard Hosein, Douglas Mendes and Avory Sinanan. New Attorney General John Jeremie made the announcement late yesterday and the new “Silk” appointments were made at President’s House by acting President Dr Linda Baboolal. Usually, at the end of each year, the AG announces “Silk” appointments, but for the past 23 months no attorney was elevated to SC.
