Police Cpl shot in Aranguez

A police Corporal was shot in the left thigh during a search for arms and ammunition at a house in Aranguez.

Reports revealed that around 5 am, Cpl Jeffers and a party of officers went to a house in Aranguez to execute a search warrant for arms and ammunition. Officers surrounded the house when they were greeted by gunfire from the back and front of the house. Cpl Jeffers was struck in the left thigh and was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was treated and warded. Two women and two men were arrested and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition seized.
