1 killed, two wounded in Arima

ONE man was killed yesterday afternoon, while two others were shot in what appears to have been a drug deal gone sour. At around 12.30 pm yesterday residents of Pinto and Mottley Road, Arima responded to the sounds of multiple gun shots and a car crashing. On investigating they found  a dead man in his late 30s or early 40s bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound to his head. He was slumped over the steering wheel of a black Mazda 323 —PBB 8763, believed stolen, resting in a drain. The residents also saw three men running from the scene in different directions. The car was riddled with bullets. Sometime later police received a call that two men with gunshot wounds to their legs were treated at the Arima district hospital and later warded at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital. Police believe these men were involved in the incident. Visiting the scene were Sgts Helen Cox-Modeste, Hutchins, Abraham, Inspector Yearwood and Cpl Hosien. WP Sgt Modeste is spearheading inquiries.
