Three suspects held in south shoe store murder

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy is among three persons held by police in connection with Saturday’s killing of a shoe store employee in San Fernando. The ages of the other two held were given as 17 and 20.  They are from Morvant and Malick.

The three allegedly staged the robbery in broad daylight killing 17-year-old Arvin Bissoondial in the process. They were reportedly held minutes after the robbery/killing during a police chase which ended in Gasparillo. According to police reports, the young men, after allegedly commiting the robbery at Rennie’s on High Street, escaped in a black Toyota vehicle along the adjoining Penitence Street and through a network of roads then on to the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway.  The three young men are expected to be placed on an identification Parade today.

A party of policemen who reached the scene of the crime within minutes, pursued the car. Police  said the car was spotted veering off into Gasparillo. The men in the car pulled into KFC’s car park on Gasparillo Junction. Spotting a black Toyota car, the police party cornered the vehicle. Three youths were arrested. Police seized a gun, one spent round and four rounds of live ammunition. Police said yesterday that the 15-year-old is from Malick, Barataria, while the other two are from Morvant.
