Police recover $15,000 worth of stolen toys

ACTING on information Four Roads police have recovered $15,000 worth of Christmas toys minutes after they were stolen.

Around 3 am Saturday responding to an anonymous phone-tip police went to the back of Fun World on the Diego Martin Main Road where they discovered two men. On seeing the police the men ran away. A quick search of the nearby bushes revealed the items that were stockpiled for transport. The grateful owner was contacted and the items returned.

When contacted police confirmed that this store has been hit several times around Christmas and they believe that bandits are targetting toys and furniture stores around the country because of the ready market. A party of officers headed by Sgt Stephen Ramsubhag, which included PCs Dave Burnett, Randolph St Bernard and Marvin Gonzales visited the scene.
