Cops seize gun, ammo
THREE robbery suspects were held after police raided a San Fernando house yesterday and recovered a semi-automatic pistol and 25 rounds of ammunition.
The men, aged 20, 27 and 30, who are believed by police to be involved in a series of robberies, were expected to be placed on several identification parades at police stations in South, South-Western and Central Divisions.
According to police reports, around 6 am, a party of officers co-ordinated by Snr Supt (Southern Division) Desmond Lambert and including Cpls Charles and Rodriguez, PC Louis and WPC Roxanne Paul, executed a search warrant for arms and ammunition at a house in Duncan Village. The officers searched the premises and found a .380 semi-automatic pistol and 25 live rounds of ammunition in a washroom. The three suspects were arrested and taken to San Fernando Police Station, where they were interrogated. Police sources said the men are expected to be charged with possession of arms and ammunition and will appear before a San Fernando magistrate today. Investigations are continuing.
