Dutchess Trembly ready to ‘Lime’

Dutchess Trembly sounded a warning to her opponents in the Sneakers Pimps Allowance feature on tomorrow’s “Friday Lime” card with fast blow-out on the exercise course at Santa Rosa Park yesterday morning.

The roan grey which turned in her maiden certificate in her third career start over 1350 metres in September, showed a good turn of foot from the top of the straight to the winning line in 22.71 seconds. Her race-day rider Carlos Marquez used only hands and heels to get a response from the daughter of Friendly Lover/Livermore Lady in the gallop, which proved best on time for the distance on the ground conditions made sloppy by overnight rain. Kalyan, who has raced consistently well to earn upkeep in her three starts, was another to have looked good in her spin between the same two points. The Edmund De Freitas trainee produced 24.42 on the clock and continued her run before being eased down in the backstretch. Finest Gem has had a good early season and could be rounding back to her best.

The three-year-old chestnut from trainer Harold Chadee’s barn had spring in her steps and seemed in comfort zone with her post of 24.71 seconds for the same trip. Her present mood could pose problems for 13 opponents in a the No Limits event designed to pull down the curtains on eight-race “Friday Lime” card. Dealer’s Choice has not been on board in both her starts but by her work yesterday seems to be getting the hang of things. The Ganesh Lal-trained two-year-old listed to start in the Good Luck maiden event over 1200 metres, went exceptionally well over the last 600 metres of the sand course, covering it in 36.62 seconds. Other exciting workouts on the morning came from Squeezed Moment and Le Fabuleux Dansur over 1000 metres. The local bred attached to leading trainer Glenn Mendez barn posted 1:02.23, while the once raced United States bred three-year-old from trainer Rohit Dube stable clocked 1:03.86 seconds.
