State attorneys back to work Monday
Protesting State attorneys who have been on a sickout for the past four days are expected to turn out for work on Monday.
The attorneys, all members of the Association of Legal Officers (ALO), will also hold a meeting on Monday to assess the situation and determine if there will be need for further action to force Government to move quickly to meet their request for better pay. The attorneys have a longstanding request to Government to upgrade their salary and perks. But there has been delays in meeting the attorneys request, which Government had blamed on “bureaucracy.” The sickout by State attorneys had caused a shutdown in several courts throughout the country and hampered the legal aspects of operation in many ministries and departments.
