TT company wins UK business award

Proud business manager Suffiat Ali of Saudia Enterprises Ltd (SEL) returned from London recently where he was invited to receive the International Quality Crown Award. The award ceremony, which took place in the Convention Hall at the Thistle Tower Hotel, London, saw hundreds of business representatives from 166 countries who participated in the event.

Ali, who has been operating a successful printing business in Barrackpore, received the award from president of the London-based organisation Business Initiative Director (BID) Jose E Preito. Preito praised Ali for excellence in the quality work done by his firm. In his speech at the convention, Preito said that the Quality Crown Award convention is to recognise the commitment to quality of companies from all over the world, whose business activities cover the top areas of industrial production and services. He also noted that the winning companies are symbols of commitment to leadership, technology and innovation which make them models for other companies in their sectors. On receiving the award Ali addressed the gathering in London saying that SEL is committed to publicising this “quality culture” with employees, suppliers, clients and community, supported by the QC100 Total Management Model of BID.

Speaking from his home in Barrackpore last Wednesday evening, Ali said that he dedicated the award to his sister Mymoon Ali who passed away in a vehicular accident a few weeks ago. Despite the great loss to the Ali family, Suffiat continues to deliver quality work to his customers throughout TT and the Caribbean. “Quality is a consequence of valuing customer satisfaction and obtaining positive business results is a key principle of SEL. We also meet quality levels established in the company in accordance with BID’s QV100 points of quality,” he said. He also noted that at SEL the manager and directors encourage participation and teamwork in decision making. Special emphasis on the management of human resources in the company is very important. This ensures the achievement of the maximum potential of the staff. Employees of SEL are also aware of the concentration on the most profitable areas of activity, to achieve the best business results.
