Enjoyable evening with Republic

THE EDITOR: My wife and I, like hundreds of other honoured couples, were guests of Republic Bank Limited at their very lavish Christmas party held at their Centre City Branch on December 9, 2003. A welcome to all was moved by Mrs Parbatie Khan, the Area Credit manager, who expressed in words of gratitude, the patronage and support of the guests. She stated her eagerness in looking for a better 2004 and, of course, offered to all the best fortunes throughout the yuletide. I am sure I can say, with certainty, on behalf of the guests which amounted to over two hundred and myself, that we all enjoyed an ecstatic evening, the memory of which could only be surpassed by another Republic Bank celebration in 2004. Throughout the eve-ning we were entertained by music — carols, classicals and calypsos. The medley was so rhythmic and tantalising that it was with great difficulty that I resisted conceding to my eagerness to dance.

Music and solo singing were not the only attractions, appe-tising delicacies were served in non-stop succession by the beautiful and charming ladies of Republic Bank. Republic Bank must be commended for the interest they have exhibited in their customers and friends. The invitees that evening consisted of people of all ethnic and religious backgrounds. This reminded me of our National Anthem, “Where every creed and race find an equal place....” I am hopeful that other institutions will follow suit and thereby uphold to show gratitude to their customers and to strive to eliminate racial disharmony by acknowledging and celebrating the diversity of our nation.
