Republic Bank bring top Canada golf coach

Internationally acclaimed Canadian national golf coach Henry Brunton is coming to Trinidad and Tobago.

Brunton will be accompanied by 11 top Canadian junior golfers to lead the Republic Bank “Strive for Excellence” Royal Canadian/Trinidad and Tobago Junior Golf Camp. This will be held from December 27 to January 4, 2004. The camp, the first of its kind to be held in Trinidad and Tobago, will be staged at four different golf courses throughout Trinidad and Tobago. Among those participating will be 30 of Trinidad and Tobago’s top junior golfers, including Shane Costelloe, Ben Martin, Simon Merry and Diana Torry.

Sanctioned by the Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association, the event, which includes a rigorous schedule of nine hours of golf a day. The sessions will offer local golfers the opportunity to play alongside Canada’s best under the expert training of TT national junior coach, Lee Varnett; Rhonda Fluery and Brunton, who is facilitator of the camp.
A distinguished player who has won several PGA events, Brunton, 38-years-old  is the National Golf Coach for the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA). He is a native of Ottawa, Ontario and is responsible for the hiring and training of regional coaches across Canada and continues to develop and deliver training camp curricula, as well as coach international teams that represent Canada.

His extensive experience has earned him the reputation of being one of Canada’s most respected golf coaches and he is recognised by Range Magazine as one of the top 50 golf instructors in North America. Proud of its involvement with the camp, Republic Bank have been a major sponsor of local junior golf programmes over the past four years and continues to foster the development of the sport as part of its youth development drive.  Along with their continued sponsorship of the Trinidad and Tobago National Junior Golf Team for international tournaments, the bank hosts several Junior Golf Clinics during the year from which many of the country’s promising junior golfers have graduated.
