Rain hampers TT cricket trials
THE third trial match for the national senior cricket team, preparing for the 2004 Carib Beer Series, has been reduced to a three-day affair after rain completely washed out play on yesterday’s schedule third day. The players arrived at the National Cricket Centre, Balmain, Couva to see persistent rainfall on the ground and environs, forcing the umpires to call off proceedings for the day. Play resumes at 10 am today, weather permitting, with the Shazam Babwah XI on 97 runs for three wickets in response to the Imran Jan’s XI mammoth score of 521.
