Letters should be useful suggestions

THE EDITOR: Let me commend you on positioning both my letter on road safety, and that of Mr Kelshall on your letters page as part of the opening salvo of concerned public comment in TT in 2004.

It shows a level of right thinking on the part of the editorial staff that is highly commendable. Together, the two should make at least one public official stop and think. I hope other people in TT will use the “letters” pages of the three major dailies to make useful suggestions for improving our country, rather than constantly carping on what “government” is not doing. Being a Trini is a lifelong commitment to a place, including a commitment to making it a better place.
I salute you. I salute Mr Kelshall.
