The TIDCO team welcomes its newly appointed VP of Tourism
The team at the Tourism and Industrial Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (TIDCO) is set to welcome its newly appointed Vice President of Tourism, Warren Solomon. “In his capacity as Vice President of Tourism at TIDCO , Warren will manage the country’s tourism product development initiatives , spearhead niche development and contribute to the marketing of Trinidad and Tobago as a premier destination to visit and do business, “ said TIDCO’s Corporate Communications Manager, Renatta Valere. “He will also be involved in negotiations and the development and maintenance of stakeholder relationships,” she added.
Warren Solomon would assume the position of Vice President of Tourism at TIDCO, effective January 2, 2004. However, Solomon is no stranger to TIDCO. From 1995 - 1999 he worked with the national promotional agency as Marketing Manager , Americas. Most recently, he expanded his career internationally as a Market Services Representative and then Marketing and Promotions Manager for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. “During this time I was exposed to the best practices in marketing and product development,” said Solomon. A proud alumnus of Queen’s Royal College, Warren received his tertiary education and training in North America, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Development Studies and Spanish at St.
Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia as well as several marketing, management and tourism certificates at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He is also the recipient of a Certificate in Tourism Planning and Development from the University of Surrey in the UK. Fluent in Spanish, Solomon credits this in large part to his being able to launch Trinidad and Tobago’s first major tourism promotion in South America during this first tenure at TIDCO. Solomon is married and has a son.
