Champs Mucurapo start n-ball defence
NATIONAL schools netball champions Mucurapo Senior Comprehensive will begin defence of their title on Tuesday, when British Gas Secondary Schools Netball League action resumes.
The teen netball queens will take on Central zone runners-up Carapichaima in one of four games scheduled for the Jean Pierre Sports Complex. Sister school Mucurapo Junior Secondary who topped Group X in the North zone, will face Toco Composite the Eastern runners-up in another game, while Diego Martin Junior Secondary take on East champs Sangre Grande Educational Institute.
North Group Y runners-up Success/Laventille Composite will tangle with Central champions Holy Faith Convent, Couva. Schools have been divided into two groups, with Group A comprising Mucurapo Junior, Success/Laventille, Pleasantville Senior Comprehensive, Cedros, Holy Faith Convent, Toco Composite. Group B is made up of Mucurapo Senior, Diego Martin Junior, Fyzabad Composite, San Fernando East Junior Secondary, Carapichaima, Sangre Grande Educational Institute.
The action continues on Wednesday, this time in Point Fortin with two games. South East zone winners Pleasantville Senior will meet Cedros Composite of the neighbouring South West zone in a Group A game, while South West runners-up Fyzabad take on San Fernando East.
And on Friday at the Central Regional Indoor Arena, Mucurapo Junior face Holy Faith Convent, in Group A and Diego Martin Junior play Carapichaima in Group B. All games are is timed to begin from 1 pm.
