Canada women footballers in T’dad for three matches

AN 18-MEMBER Canadian Women’s Under-19 football team arrived in Trinidad yesterday for a week-long training camp. The visitors will meet the Trinidad and Tobago senior squad in two matches —- tomorrow and Saturday at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Tunapuna and the TT Under-19 squad on Monday at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima. According to a report on the Canadian Soccer Association’s website, head coach Ian Bridge said: “as we begin 2004 the focus of the programme will still be to build our team within the framework of a well-defined playing style.” “But also, we will now start to be concerned with consistent performances and results while competing internationally,” he added.
