PowerGen whip Wanderers in CSL

POWERGEN defeated W Connection Wanderers by six wickets in the Carib Sunday League cricket series yesterday.

In the rain-reduced match, Wanderers were restricted to 114 for eight wickets with veteran Narine Bideshi getting a topscore 25, Sherwin Ganga bowling off-spinners took three wickets for 14 runs. PowerGen then raced to victory at the picturesque Syne Village ground, reaching 116 for four wickets, with opener Winston Duncan hitting an unbeaten 47. National League champions Ceramic Merryboys fell to Queen’s Park by 23 runs. Earnil Ryan hit a sparkling 74 to lift the Parkites to  201 all out. They then bowled out Merryboys for 178, despite a brave 59 from youthful Mario Belcon.
