Baboolal re-elected to lead Valley Boys

Dale Baboolal of Mandingo Road, Princes Town has been re-elected to serve as president of the Valley Boys Sport Club  (VBSC) for the 2004/05 term.

Baboolal was voted by unanimous decision to head the club for another year at the Valley Boys 44th Annual General Meeting held at the Lengua Civic Centre last Thursday evening. Among the names selected to head the southern sports club are: Fareed Khan, vice president; Feroz Khan, secretary; Anand Roopchand, assistant secretary; Sunil Maharaj, PRO; and Anthony Gangoo, treasurer. Kayub Hosein was selected to sit on the executive. In the gathering of many sports enthusiasts of the Princes Town area, the long serving past president of the group, Frankie Khan, was asked to oversee the elections.

Before conducting the elections exercise of VBSC, Khan told the audience that  there is strength in unity and that there is a need to unite in order to win the many battles of life. He noted that the true spirit of sportsmanship should always prevail on the field. “Sports help to develop the communities in many ways. It provides a community forum for the people to get together and work as a unit to achieve many goals. It is the sports clubs of the country that is now uniting the people in the rural and urban districts of the country,” Khan said. He urged the members to work hard in 2004 and bring back good results for the people of Princes Town. Khan congratulated Baboolal on his re-election. He said that it shows that the sportsmen had confidence in Baboolal and he must do everything in his power to keep order in the long serving sports.
