It was the BLB award for Azlan

THE PRINTER’S Devil was very busy in yesterday’s report on the best photography award given to Newsday staffer Azlan Mohammed. It was erroneously reported that Mohammed had copped the FCB prize when in fact it was the Betting and Levy Board (BLB) award for a photograph taken on their card staged at Santa Rosa Park, Arima on December 13.

The award winning photograph caught Golden Honour, ridden by Navin Mangalee pulling away from the pack to win the feature event in soggy conditions. It is the second consecutive year that Mohammed has clinched the BLB honour for which he pocketed a cash prize. The top Newsday lensman is currently in the running for the FCB best photograph prize for a thrilling action shot taken on New Year’s Day when the bank sponsored the day’s proceedings. We regret the embarrassment that may have been caused for the mix-up between the BLB and the FCB raceday photography awards.
