Ramprakash debuts for Preysal tomorrow

EX-ENGLAND Test batsman Mark Ravin Ramprakash will make his debut for CLICO Preysal in the Carib Sunday League tomorrow, when they play Munroe Road at the Inshan Ali Recreation Ground, Preysal. Ramprakash has joined Preysal as a coach/player and will don flannels in just five matches as part of the club’s plan to help develop their young batsmen’s game. CLICO Preysal is best known for their work as the country’s premier development club, having produced 14 national players at all age group levels last year.

The club lost five of their top players this season to national and West Indies duty, while long-serving player/coach Keith Arthurton has taken up a senior coaching position in his native St. Kitts and is not available. Ramprakash was invited to work with the club’s young players alongside head coach Debideen Manick for a five-week period, but agreed to play some games as part of his contract. His visit is being made possible by club sponsors Colonial Life Insurance Company.
