Windwards set Guyana 255 to win
ROSEAU: Guyana were set 255 runs for victory against the Windward Islands and ended the third day of their Carib Beer Series regional cricket match on 41 yesterday. The visitors need a further 204 on the final day today.
The Windwards began yesterday with Rommel Currency on four and Devon Smith on nine. The pair scored 75 runs in an opening partnership. Darren Sammy had a top score of 87 with 11 fours and one six. He and Rawle Lewis had a partnership of 60 runs for the fifth wicket. For Guyana, Rayon Griffith took six wickets which cost him 47. He was supported by Neil McGarrell who captured two wickets. Sixty-four runs were scored off Mahendra Nagamootoo’s 14 overs and he had no wickets for his efforts. Nagamootoo took four wickets in the first innings.
