Alexander wins 30-lap cycling grind at Oval
JOSHUA ALEXANDER won the 30-lap event at the 2004 Rotating Equipment and Malta Carib Cycling Series last Sunday. Riding in the day’s feature event, which was held outside the Queen’s Park Oval, Alexander was pushed along the way by the bunch, including Darren Reid, Roger Smart, Shannon Metivier and triathlete Jason Gooding. But Alexander was the first pedallist to cross the finish line, with Reid in second spot, followed by Gooding, Metivier and Smart. Reid was victorious in the first race on the day, the one-lap sprint, ahead of Elisha Greene, Ako Kellar and Adam Alexander.
