Schoolboy sentenced to ‘taste’ of YTC

A student of Signal Hill Senior Secondary School was on Tuesday sentenced to spend seven days at the Youth Training Centre (YTC) “just to see what it was like.” The 14-year-old boy appeared before Senior Magistrate Annette Mc Kenzie in the Scarborough First Court charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. He was reportedly arrested on the school’s compound after .2 grammes of marijuana was found in his pocket by an MTS security guard who searched him after it was felt that he was acting suspiciously.
