Central Bank lead All Sectors netball

CENTRAL BANK have surged into the lead in the Alternate Y Division of this year’s All Sectors Netball League, after a close 47-43 victory over Government Printery at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua. Goal-shoot Kathy James had a fine game on Thursday, scoring 46 goals from 58 attempts and former national under-21 star getting the other goal Camille Aubin from only two attempts.

The Bank Girls led throughout 13-11 at the end of the opening stanza and extended it to 30-24 at the half-time interval. They maintained their six-goal advantage at the end of the third quarter and held off a fierce late rally by the Printery outfit for victory. Marjorie Jack led the Printery women with 31 goals from 40 attempts; Kathy Ann Cain had six from 10; and Candy Hazelwood six from 16. In the other match, Defence Force whipped TSTT 37-31 with Kerlene Sylvester slotting in 34 of 40 attempts and Donna Chase, three of six. The Hello Girls got their points from Sarah Hutchinson, 14 goals from 28 attempts, Leslie Ann Lynch, nine of 13, and Jumila Wilson, five of ten. The Hello Girls led 6-4 at the first interval, but the Army-Coast Guard women took over for good 17-10 at the half and 24-20 at the three-quarter stage.
