Ban on US poultry lifted

The Ministry of Agricul-ture, Land and Marine Resources has removed the ban which had been placed on the importation of all poultry and poultry products from the US, specifically states along the western coast of the country such as California and neighbouring states. The ban on US poultry was issued last September as a result of an outbreak of the Newcastle disease.

However, the ban on poultry and poultry products from Holland and Belgium remains in effect. The Ministry advised importers that certificates should be presented before consignments leave the port of origin so that permits could be issued in advance of arrival in Trinidad and Tobago.
