Illuminat hooks up Republic to broadband
Republic Bank Limited recently upgraded its banking service operations when it joined forces with regional technology provider, Illuminat, to deploy a nation-wide secure broadband wireless network. Illuminat’s broadband wireless solution will reinforce Republic’s telecom links and enhance the reliability of banking services to all Republic Bank customers, the bank said. “Republic Bank can now guarantee a 99.99 percent reliability of our data communications. This will reduce the risk of service interruptions due to network failures,” said Republic’s General Manager of Information Technology, Derwin Howell.
Illuminat’s wireless broadband service is an IP-based network that provides secure, point to multipoint connections for the transfer of data. “Illuminat’s wireless network is an independent and reliable alternative to Republic’s communications needs,” Howell explained. “We are pleased Republic Bank selected Illuminat as its business partner and to be part of its service provision to customers,” said Illuminat’s director David Belgrave, noting that the project placed great demands on Illuminat in terms of coverage and system reliability. Illuminat is a member of the Neal and Massy Group and is a leading Regional Information Technology and Communication Services Provider.
