AG: 2,000 integrity forms coming

A spokesmAn for Attorney General John Jeremie said the Integrity Act 2000 has been effected by the gazetting of the Prescribed Forms and Regulations for public officials to declare their assetts. Jeremie has asked the Government Printery to print 2,000 copies of the form,  the spokesman yesterday told Newsday. This number, he explained, was to cater for the large number of people who fell within the net and for the fact that officials had the option of filing declarations back for three years.

The AG wanted it understood that he had been pushing to have these rules ready, which was the first thing he did upon assuming office. “He got the support of the Opposition in the Joint Select Committee (JSC) and then got it quickly to the Senate and the House of Representatives before the deadline for people to file,” said the spokesman. “He has been pushing to have it gazetted which was done last Friday.”
