PANORAMA IN THE SAVANNAH
When mention is made of “Panorama in the Savannah,” the focus of interest is usually the North Stand, the place where people go to have a great time. The mood is always bouyant, cheerful and tolerant, and friendships are instantly established as the season’s beverages are freely shared, even among strangers.
As well, the females seem to outnumber the males making use of the facility, many of them attired in eye-catching, head-turning outfits, all in keeping with the festive nature of the occasion. At last Sunday’s semi-final round of the 2004 National Steelband Panorama competition, the North Stand once again joyfully lived up to its cherished reputation. Our photographer CURTIS CHASE spent the day among the merrymakers and brought back these images.
