$2M cocaine bust
PRINCES Town police yesterday made a $2 million cocaine haul, seized an AK-47 machine gun and arrested a relative of executed drug lord Dole Chadee following a raid at a house at Pascal Road, Piparo. The 30-year-old suspect, who was caught cooking some of the cocaine, is expected to appear before a Princes Town magistrate today charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm and possession of three live rounds of ammunition.
Police sources said the cocaine bust, coordinated by ASP Joseph Nathaniel, was carried out around 3 pm yesterday after information gathered by investigators during a two-day surveillance. The party of officers, led by Sgt Errol Ramdath, and including Cpl Leon Haynes, Ashton Singh, Christopher Emrith, Fyzool Sulliman, Ken Samaroo, Ashton Singh and Elvin George, caught the suspect boiling the illegal drug. Square pieces of cocaine, wrapped in plastic packets to be distributed, were also found in the house. Investigators seized several utensils used in the making and preparation of the illegal drugs, including pots, a scale, fire cracker and gas tank.
