La Horquetta woman 37th road fatality
A La Horquetta woman on Sunday became this country’s 37th road fatality in 33 serious accidents. According to information around 2.35 am Sue-Ann Bailey, 24, of 7809 Phrase 7, La Horquetta, was sitting in the left front passenger seat of a white Charmant motorcar travelling east when on reaching 200 metres from the Piarco Junction on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway it came into contact with the left rear centre of a B15 Sentra motorcar driven by Natalie Isaac of Temple and Hernandez Streets, Arima.
The Charmant which had attempted to overtake the Sentra collided with its rear causing it to overturn several times. Bailey was thrown out of the car and landed on the shoulder of the highway where she died immediately. DMO Dr Vinood Mahabir visited the scene and pronounced Bailey dead.
