Police arrest newspaper vendor
PRINCES TOWN police cracked down on vending on High Street, Princes Town, resulting in more than ten people having to vacate the avement area opposite Scotia Bank on Friday afternoon. Police said notices were issued to the vendors by the Princes Town Regional Corporation last week for them to desist from conducting their trade along the avement opposite the bank. Persons who sold clothing items, newspapers and even doubles, were among those issued with notices. According to a police report, all but a young man who sold newspapers, complied to vacate the pavement. He was arrested by PC Dansingh yesterday morning and charged with obstructing the free passageway. The newspaper vendor is due to appear before a magistrate tomorrow to answer the charge.
